Certainly Humsafar doesn’t needs an introduction. Farhat Ishtiaq has given an otherworldly and incredibly tremendous story of possession, passion, love, desire and devotion through her words which when got on air left no home and heart untouched. It is a sentimental love, and an eye-opening story of love and rejection, of proud and attitude, a story that deserve a fair chance to see.
2)Dastan

It was the very first time a drama was made on this subject, it got huge appreciation from audience and critics. Being a mega cast project, it has a huge cast including Sanam Baloch (Bano), Fawad Khan (Hassan), Mehreen Raheel, Ahsan Khan, Saba Qamar, Saba Hameed, Qavi Khan and Babrik Shah. This is that one drama that has everything perfect in it let it be screen play, locations, acting, direction, editing or production. The on screen couple of Sanam Baloch and Fawad Khan was a big hit, both of them received an overwhelming response from their fans. Want to learn something and be entertained at the same time? 5)Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpan

Year: 2012
Director: Haissam Hussain

Channel: Ary Digital

They made me laugh. They made me want to bang my head against the wall. They made the critic in me discard every single rational way in which I analyze a drama serial. They compelled me to switch off my brain cells and just enjoy a drama serial.   They were Mujtaba, Daneez, Shimraiz, Kiran, Mujtaba's mom, and Safina!   From the day its promos went on air, I fell in love with Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpan! I counted down the days to the first episode, and enjoyed every single moment of the KPKP journey. To say that I am still waiting for a drama serial with which I could have as deep a love-hate relationship as I did with KPKP would be the understatement of the year. must watch it!

6) Bulbulay

Year: 2008

Director: Rana Rizwan

Channel: Ary Digital

Some serials do not need any description and are immensely popular for providing the laughter therapy. The dialogue delivery usually sticks to smashing one-liner dialogues. This is an all-time favourite drama of all generations and is well-known for its interesting comedy. The story runs around a family who are off and on involved in unconventional troubles. The leading characters Momo and Hina Dilpazeer have made people burst into laughter by their dramatic roles. Hence, it deserves to be in the topmost 10 positions. Hats-off to the director Rana Rizwan and the script writer Ali Iran for their outstanding innovations for making people laugh and get relieved from stress.

7) Durr-e-shehwar
Year: 2012
Director: Haissam Hussain
Channel: Hum Tv

Durr-e-shehwar is an old woman who has struggled hard through most years of her married life. Being married to a man to whom his family came first it was not an easy job for her to fit in to her new home. But Durr-e-Shehwar managed to stay in her marriage quite gracefully, compromising and persevering. All her efforts won her a husband in her old age who cannot do without her and cares for her a lot….too little too late???   On the other hand there is Shandana (Durr-e-Shehwar’s daughter) who has been married for eight years with her cousin Haider. Her marriage has been a rocky one, Shandana feels her husband does not value her and has decided to take a stand and make her husband realize he is wrong. Haider, on the contrary feels Shandana is a total failure as a wife and a mother. He has no intentions of kneeling before Shandana and seeking forgiveness. Their egocentric approach towards their relationship affects their daughter even more than it affects them. The writer very aptly through these couples has highlighted how egos kill relationships and how a relationship can be rescued by compromise.   In short Durr-e-shehwar is a commendable play and I highly recommend it…just what the doctor ordered.

8)Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu
Year: 2012
Director: Mehreen Jabbar
Channel: Hum TV

I am certain there are many people out there who may have watched one or two episodes of this play and decided to never watch it again, most likely because of the cast. I have to admit I watched Mata-e-Jaan out of sheer curiosity; it was one of those plays that did not instantly click with me, the primary reason being the leading cast. But a few episodes later I am totally into Haniya and Ebaad and am no longer thinking if x, y or z could have fitted into the leading roles better.   The play has been written by Zakir Ahmed but the main story has been taken from the novel ‘Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu’ written by Farhat Ishtiaq, Mehreen Jabbar has directed the play and the producer is non other than Momina Duraid! The leading cast consists of Sarwat Gillani, Adeel Hussein, Javaid Sheikh and Hina Khawaja Bayat.   Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu has a social romantic theme. Most part of the play revolves around Haniya and Ebaad who are both madly in love but facing problems getting married because of Ebaad’s bossy father, who wants his son to marry his niece. I believe it is a true reflection of how some parents in our society, because of their need to control and stubbornness destroy their relationship with their children. Ebaad is the perfect son but his father’s wrong attitude forces him to become rebellious and resistant.   Overall the play is very happening, I love its pace and enjoy watching the story shift from one setting to the other. For those of you, who gave up on it, do give it one more try.

9)Zindagi Gulzar Hai
Year: 2014
Director: Sultana Siddique
Channel: Hum TV

Zindagi Gulzar  Hai” is in the limelight because of the charming drama queen Sanam
Saeed and dazzling Fawad Khan. They have delivered a heart throbbing performance and hence won the heart of the entire Pakistan. This drama has portrayed the epitome of two different identities that belong to two separate families who eventually get married. The story encircles around a middle class girl who is distressed from her life and feels insecure in getting involved in an intense relationship. The drama is based on Umera Ahmad’s novel. The extremely artistic director Sultana Siddiqui has added life in it by showcasing her superb talent.

10)shehr e zaat
Year: (2011-2012)
